How long is celery juice good for in the fridge

How long is celery juice good for in the fridge? In today's article, we are discussing all this and more.

While we're on the subject of post-workout drinks, we're here to talk about celery juice. While a glass of celery juice is a great way to get some of the fiber that you just can't get from kale, there's one thing that needs to be taken into account: the amount of time that you leave it in the fridge.

For a slow drip of juice to last an entire day, it has to be kept cold at all times and preferably on ice. (Too much, and it turns into a disgusting, slimy mush.) But just how long should you keep celery juice in the fridge, or should you just stick to it as is?

You can keep celery juice or any homebuilt juice in your fridge for anywhere between 24 and 72 hours (max). Still, if you would like to enjoy it at its most helpful, I recommend drinking it within 20-30 minutes.

How long does celery juice last?

Celery juice lasts for an average of four days in the fridge, though some brands are better than others. It's best to consult your favorite juice brand. But to get you started, Kombucha doesn't last more than 48 hours, whereas Chobani Cucumber + Kale won't go off until at least three days past its sell-by date. If you're feeling confident enough to serve your guest's celery juice for breakfast, that will be about the time the juice starts to lose its shape.

Tips to make celery juice last longer in the fridge

1. Make sure you buy a heavy-duty, oxygen-absorbing juicer to make it easier to get the juice out of the celery.

2. Make sure the celery is as fresh as possible before you juice it. It should be in a closed bag, or preferably in the freezer so that it maintains its shape.

3. Ideally, celery juice can be stored at room temperature, but the fat-soluble vitamin E won't keep for more than a few hours in the fridge. You can always refrigerate an extra glass or two to take with you, though, so it's not a total loss.

4. Check the juice after a few hours – it will thicken if it's been kept for too long. It's normal, though.

A lot of people are surprised by the taste of celery juice

It can take some people a while to get used to celery juice and find it delicious. But once you've tried it, you'll never go back. It's super-refreshing and very tasty and you can even juice and drink it before or after a workout. You could also put it in smoothies, and salad dressings and even add it to a cup of oatmeal.

And if you don't find it too palatable, then it really is just a matter of your taste buds. As a nutritionist, I often receive emails from people asking how they can get the tastiest celery juice, and although I can't give you an exact formula, there are a couple of ingredients that you can add to get a very nice taste.

Firstly, look for a brand that doesn't have a lot of added sugar – the fat will help the flavor in your juice. I'm a big fan of almond milk as it contains a lot of vitamin E, but coconut milk can also work really well and it's a bit cheaper.

Secondly, make sure that the juice isn't too chunky or too watery, and remember that in order for the celery to have a chunky texture, you'll need to prepare your celery in advance. You can put it in a small, tightly packed piece and boil it until the water is absorbed.

Best of all, celery juice can give you the fiber that you want in a smoothie, without needing to add any extra calories, fat, or sugar. You may not believe this, but it's actually better than a spoonful of fruit!

Look out for these nutrients in your diet:

  • It will boost your energy levels
  • It will help to prevent a build-up of fat around your middle
  • It will provide you with a source of potassium (a mineral that is vital for helping the heart to beat smoothly)
  • It will help to control blood sugar levels

Celery is a great source of iron and vitamin E but is very low in vitamin B6

You may be surprised to hear that celery has very little vitamin B6, which is important for our nervous system and our ability to make DNA. And while celery is a good source of iron, a study published in the journal Obesity in 2016 found that it contains less iron than spinach, kale, and spinach.

Celery juice is also a good source of fiber, calcium, vitamin C, vitamin K, and folic acid.
